Most of the activities in this itinerary are unique to us, and we only offer them to our clients. The local hosts of the tour have gone through a rigorous selection process (sustainable, honest, and transparent).
• 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Small group tour: this is a small group tour (maximum of 10 participants) so you’ll meet like-minded individuals. Participants of this Oaxaca tour are from the US, Europe, and even Asia! This is really a diverse and dynamic group.
• ⚥ Non-gender specific tours: We used to do group tours for female travelers but through the years, more solo travelers who are men. Everyone of all shapes, sizes, and colors are welcome to join this Oaxaca tour!

Day 0: March 19, 2024 (Tuesday)

Flights are NOT included in this Oaxaca tour. Our office can help you book a cheaper flight but you can also use the search button below to find the cheapest flights to and from Oaxaca City.

A driver will pick you up at Oaxaca City International Airport at your arrival time. I will be in Oaxaca in the evening of day 0 so we can meet for dinner and do something together!

8:00 PM: Welcome dinner and drinks

Our only activity for this day is having dinner and drinks at a rooftop restaurant. This is our welcome party, where we will get to know each other and, at the same time, enjoy our first night in Oaxaca City!

Day 1: March 20, 2024 (Wednesday)

9:00 AM – Oaxaca City Walking Tour

 On this tour, we will visit famous landmarks, go to rooftops with the best views of the city, take colorful photos of the streets, go to photo spots, and more!

12:00 PM – Cooking classes with lunch and open bar mezcal

First, we will do a tour of the organic garden where we will get the ingredients for our cooking class. After which, we will start the mezcal tasting while chopping ingredients.

4:00 PM (Free time): Go back to the hotel to rest, shower, and prepare for the evening.

7:00 PM: Street food dinner: tlayuda

The first iconic street food that you should try is tlayuda. Tlayudas are like giant crispy tortillas, topped with a variety of savory ingredients that make for the perfect meal or snack any time of day.

9:00 PM (end of Day 2): Optional: depending on the group’s mood, some tour participants opt to go for more drinks near our hotel. This is entirely up to you, but I’ll recommend places near our hotel!

Day 2: March 21, 2024 (Thursday)

7:30 AM – Hierve El Agua Tour

We will drive to Hierve El Agua petrified waterfalls and will spend the whole afternoon there. First, we will stop for a local breakfast (comal tacos) before we start our Hierve El Agua tour.

4:00 PM (Free time): Go back to the hotel to rest, shower, and prepare for the evening.

7:00 PM – Dinner and mezcaleria hop

We will head to dinner in one of the best bars in North America and will have mezcal cocktails. After which, we will do a Mezcaleria hop.

9:00 PM (End of Day 3): All after dinner activities are optional but you can continue the night in nearby bars in our hotel.

Day 3: March 22, 2024 (Friday)

7:30 AM – Mezcal tour and lunch

This day is exciting because we are going to the agave fields and learn about mezcal! First, we will go onboard a truck to go to the fields. In the field, you will learn about the different types of mezcal plants used in mezcal production.

4:00 PM (Free time): Go back to the hotel to rest, shower, and prepare for the evening.

7:00 PM: Jalatlaco neighborhood tour

We will go around Jalatlaco, one of the best neighbourhoods in Oaxaca City. We will stroll the streets and go for dinner.

9:00 PM (End of Day 4): All after dinner activities are optional but you can continue the night in nearby bars in our hotel.

Day 4: March 23, 2024 (Saturday)

Textile tour with lunch

We’re going to drive to Teotitlan to see a group of artists there. Here, you will learn how to weave in Oaxaca the way people used to do it. This practice is still being kept alive, and this cooperative is one of the people we help in Oaxaca.

4:00 PM (Free time): Go back to the hotel to rest, shower, and prepare for the evening.

Dinner and taco crawl

In the evening, we will have our farewell party by going to a taco crawl (Netflix specials). We will also go to a bar for our last night in Oaxaca City

Day 5: March 24, 2024 (Sunday)

Farewell brunch (Optional)

For those who are flying out in the evening, we will have a farewell brunch at a rooftop restaurant.

Departure and end of Oaxaca Tour: You will be will be transported to anwyhere your want to be dropped off (i.e. airport or another destination).

Where we’ll stay

We will be staying in a hotel with a bar, restaurant, and common areas. Here, you will also meet our local friends in Oaxaca City and you’ll meet fellow travelers as well. This area is a safe neighborhood!

• ✅ Accommodations for the 5-day tour: If you want to extend, let us know, and we will help yo extend your stay! You can also arrive early if you like – Trisha will be there from October 27th.
• ✅ All ground transportation: private airport pick-up and drop-off (Airconditioned Van), transportation to all the tourist spots
• ✅ Water and snacks: Our van will have water, beers, snacks, tequila, and mezcal!
• ✅ Breakfast: Your hotel will already have breakfast included but we have snacks in the van if you are still hungry during the drives!
